Autodesk University 2026 recap

Autodesk University 2026 recap

Autodesk University 2026 brought together professionals from across the architecture, engineering, construction, and operations industries to explore the technologies and ideas shaping the future of the built world.

Throughout the event, one message stood out: technology adoption continues to accelerate, but many organizations still struggle to connect project data, streamline workflows, and turn information into meaningful business value.

Bridging the gap between technology and practical application

The construction technology landscape continues to evolve, offering new tools and capabilities designed to improve how projects are planned, delivered, and managed.

However, conversations at Autodesk University highlighted a familiar challenge. Many organizations still rely on disconnected technologies and workflows that make it difficult to maintain consistent, reliable project information.

As companies adopt new solutions, the industry is getting more accustomed to collecting jobsite data. But many still find it challenging to ensure that information can be accessed, connected, and used effectively across teams and throughout the project lifecycle.

This creates an opportunity for more integrated approaches that reduce fragmentation, streamline workflows, and help organizations get greater value from their project information.

For Hexagon Multivista, these conversations reinforced the importance of connecting real-world, as-built conditions with the digital models, visual documentation, and insights that support better decision-making.

Showcasing the power of Capture, Create, Analyze

Over the course of three days, our team connected with attendees to demonstrate how Hexagon Multivista brings together Capture, Create, Analyze services to support more connected project workflows.

From documenting existing conditions to creating digital assets and analyzing construction progress, our services help teams bridge the gap between physical environments and digital information.

Capture provides reliable visibility into real-world conditions through services such as construction photography, 360º imagery, 3D laser scanning, and UAV/drone services.

Create transforms project information into valuable digital assets through BIM professional service, 3D modeling, digital twins, and advanced visualization capabilities.

Analyze helps teams better understand project performance through progress reporting and deviation analysis, providing insights that support more informed decisions.

Together, these capabilities help organizations move beyond disconnected project information toward a more comprehensive understanding of their assets.

Beyond Digital Twins: Turning information into decision intelligence

In addition to connecting with attendees on the show floor, Hexagon Multivista took the stage at Autodesk University with the session “Beyond Digital Twins: How AI and Engineering Models Are Transforming the Built World.”

The session explored how the evolution of digital technology, from CAD to BIM to digital twins and AI, is changing the way organizations manage and interact with the built environment.

One key takeaway was that digital twins are not the end goal, but the foundation for better decision-making. While BIM and cloud platforms have made it easier to access and organize project information, the next challenge is turning that information into actionable intelligence.

As AI capabilities continue to advance, engineering models and digital twins have the potential to become more than digital representations of physical assets. By connecting reliable data with intelligent technologies, organizations can move beyond simply finding information to uncovering insights and making more informed decisions.

The session reinforced an important message for the industry: the future of digital transformation will extend beyond simply gathering more data or models and focus on making the information within them more valuable, accessible, and actionable.

Looking ahead: a more connected built world

Autodesk University 2026 reinforced the importance of turning project information into connected, actionable intelligence. As organizations continue to invest in digital transformation initiatives, the ability to bridge the gap between physical assets, digital models, and decision-making will be increasingly important.
